Street Chalk
1 c. plaster of Paris
½ c cool water
2-3T. acrylic paint
Small paper cups
Stir water and plaster of paris. Add paint and mix well. Add
a little more water as it thickens. Peel
of paper cup when chalk is dry.
Cleaning Recipes
Borax- scrub metal and tile without scratching. Poured into drain to keep them clean. Clean
floor. Neutralize Ammonia in urine.
Furniture polish
1 part lemon juice
2 parts vegetable or olive oil
Brass/copper Polish
Ketchup
Silver Polish
¼ c baking powder, 1 ½ T. water. Rinse and buff dry.
Drain Cleaner
¼ c. Baking Soda
½ c. vinegar
Pour baking soda in drain, Pour vinegar in drain. Tightly close drain for a few minutes. Flush with boiling water.
Over Cleaner
When spill is still warn, sprinkle with salt and scrub
Tile and Floor
Cleaner
Scrub with paste of Borax and water
Carpet Cleaner
1 part cornmeal
1 part Borax
Combine and spinkle over carpet. Leave for one hour. Vacuum.
Carpet Odor
Sprinkle baking soda and leave overnight. Vacuum
Upholstery Cleaner
¼ c Borax
1 T. dishwashing liquid
1 c. warm water
Rub on with soft cloth dipped in this solution.
Wall cleaner
1 gal hot water
½ c. borax
Toilet Bowl
Paste of Borax and Lemon Juice, leave on overnight
Spot Remover
¼ cup Borax in 2 cups cold water. Sponge on and let dry.
Ink
Wet the fabric with water, then apply a paste of cream of
tartar and lemon juice. Sit for an hour
, then water as directed, or spray with hair spray before washing
Marker
Rinse stain in cold water.
Wet stain with alcohol. Blot until color is removed. Wash in hottest
setting.
Lipstick stain
Rub with shortening and launder

Vinegar instantly removes pain
Pesticide
1 T. dishwashing detergent
1 . vegetable oil
Garden pesticide
3 onions
2 quarts water
4 cloves garlic.
Boil for an hour. Pour liquid into spray bottle and spray
plants
